Andrew Overcoming fear of Snowshoeing on lake

As we are driving out to Pasqua Lake, I was discussing with Andrew about snowshoeing on the lake.  Of course, he was refusing and afraid.  I don’t think he gets it, that the lake is frozen and is safe to go on it.  I am thinking he couldn’t comprehend it totally.  Even though he could see all the cars, the ice fishing shacks and the people on the lake, he is still not sure.

He is telling me, that I’m not going on the lake and refusing.  I was a little bit upset because I really wanted to go on the lake.  When we arrived at my sisters and got dressed for snowshoeing, he heads out towards the road. My thoughts were that I will follow him for a while and then later I’ll go on the lake myself, but to my surprise, once we got up the hill, he starts to go down towards the lake in between some houses.   To my shock he goes on the lake only near the edge though, which was an accomplishment. Way to go Andrew!

First time Driving a Snowmobile

Andrew’s first time driving a snowmobile

After Andrew overcame his fear of snowshoeing on the lake, he was getting adventurous. His uncle brought out his snowmobile and of course, Andrew was so excited.  We started out first with him riding double, as his dad drove the snowmobile.

Of course, I could tell he wanted to drive it, so we asked him if he would you like to drive it. With great excitement, he replied “of course”, so we let him drive the snowmobile all by himself.  He totally forgot about the fears of the lake and proceeded with going right across the lake and all over.  He was beaming with excitement.

Wow, victory over fear!  And of course, now wants to purchase a snowmobile.  So very proud of you Andrew, overcoming your fears.
